HAMM 97 is a tool that will allow you to modify Descent and Descent II HOG files. You'll be able to rename, delete, extract, add and modify files with the HOG extension. Editing briefings and creating exit sequences for Descent 1 levels can now be done with ease.
HAMM 97 also allows you to you can extract files from other file types, like MVL files and you can extract files from other file types, like MVL files.

A better file extractor:
· You can now extract files by finding text in the name or extension of each file. Perfect for extracting all MID files or all RL2 files! Find this feature under the Utilities menu.
RL2 prop erties screen:
· With this, you can find out how many cubes and vertices a level has, offsets, info about keys, hostages, robots, etc.
· This feature is still in development stages, and isn't quite finished yet. All options that are greyed out aren't checked by HAMM 97 yet.
· If you want to check levels, download DCheck from my web page.
· Use this feature by right-clicking on an RL2 file and selecting 'Properties...' off the pop-up menu.
· HAMM 97 now doesn't ask you if you want to save the changes to TXB or TXT files if you haven't made any!
· You can now change whether HAMM 97 loads its internal player for WAV and MIDI files. Very useful if you have a better WAV or MIDI player and don't want HAMM
· bringing up its own when you double click a WAV or MIDI file. This feature is available in the Options window.
· Get to the Options window by selecting 'Options...' off the File menu.
· CTB files are now supported. You can have credits scroll down when a player completes you mission by including a credits file named yourmission.
· CTB, where your mission is the name of your HOG file without the extension. To add a CTB file to a HOG file, select New off the Utilities menu and select CTB file.
· Quite a few bug fixes!
